Alan Mitchell is both an experienced short course developer and maritime professional. He has over 30 years of sea going experience, and 18 of those years as Chief Officer on many different types and sizes of ships worldwide including; chemical tankers different sizes and trades, clean and dirty product tankers, diamond mining, supply vessels, floating terminal, oil production vessel, bitumen carriers, bunker barges.

He became an expert in the carriage of liquids at ambient and high temperatures in bulk and also embarked on LPG training between 1999 and 2000. His last onboard role was as Chief Officer for Stena, operating a VLCC.

Alan is currently project manager/technical author for WMT ltd.
