Marija Tadin-Strapps is Head of Discovery Network, Pfizer R&D. In this role, Marija is responsible for driving the development and execution of the external discovery strategy to maximize portfolio growth through establishing key external partnerships.
A scientific leader with 20 years of experience in organizations ranging from start up to large pharmaceutical companies, Marija most recently held the position of Head of Target Sciences in the Emerging Science and Innovation (ES&I) organization at Pfizer. Prior to joining Pfizer in 2021, Marija held leadership positions at SQZ Biotechnologies, Omega Therapeutics and Merck (MSD) providing her experience across different modalities, including RNA therapeutics, epigenetic gene modulation, cell therapy, and the use of genetics and functional genomics for new target identification and validation, biomarker discovery and translational research across multiple disease areas.
Marija earned her B.A. degree in Biology with honors from Goucher College and her Master and Doctorate degrees in Genetics and Development from Columbia University. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications on the use of chemically modified siRNAs and the use of human genetics for new target discovery.
