Visa Information
All delegates who are not citizens of China are required by Chinese law to obtain a visa to enter China.
Exception: No visa is required for ordinary passport holders from Singapore, Brunei or Japan to visit China for up to 15 days.
You will need to submit an application for a Business Visa (F Visa) with your local Chinese Embassy, Consulate, or other office authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
Important documentation required for your visa application
- Passport—your valid passport must have at least six months of remaining validity and at least one blank page for visa inclusion.
- Application Form—specific country applications can be downloaded at www.china-embassy.org/eng/visas.
- Photo stapled on the application form. Photo size requirements differ by country of residence.
- Invitation letter from meeting organizers in China. Please contact Lynn Luo, lynn.luo@chinabio.com, to have an invitation letter issued.
Most visas remain valid for three months so it is recommended that you apply for your visa roughly two weeks prior to your planned trip. This way you will leave enough time for processing and also ensure that the visa does not expire before your trip. For US citizens, the usual processing time for visa applications is four business days.
You must submit your application to the Visa Office of the Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence. If you cannot submit your application personally you must entrust someone else or a travel/visa agent to submit your application to the Chinese Embassy. To find a Chinese Embassy near you, please visit: www.china-embassy.org/eng/visas Sending the visa application or document(s) to the incorrect office may result in complication or delay in processing or even denial of application.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding specific visa procedures please find the contact information for your local Chinese Embassy or Consulate at www.china-embassy.org/eng/visas
