Dr. Ya Pei is the Director of Early Drug Discovery at PegBio Co., Ltd., where she leads the design and development of innovative therapeutics for metabolic diseases. Her work focuses on integrating multiple mechanisms of action to develop next-generation drug candidates for obesity, diabetes, and related metabolic disorders, including peptide therapeutics and gene-based approaches.

Dr. Pei received her Ph.D. in Nutrition from Texas A&M University. She subsequently conducted postdoctoral research in the United States focusing on molecular mechanisms underlying obesity, metabolic inflammation, and glucose regulation using cellular and animal models.

She has extensive experience in drug discovery, molecular biology, and translational metabolic research, and has authored more than 10 peer-reviewed publications. Her work bridges academic discovery and therapeutic development to advance innovative treatments for metabolic diseases.
