James Thompson
Managing Director at CGFI
Speaker

Profile

James set up CFGI's ESG advisory practice when he joined 3 years ago from PwC and since then, has been embedded with ESG and Sustainability client teams of varied sizes and industries to deliver on their ever-increasing obligations. His experience has covered a huge range of the activities expected of a sustainability team from building and educating the team, to implementing governance models, designing transition plans, performing IRO assessments, writing reports, responding to auditors and many others.

James focusses on doing things in a way that make sense for the individual business he is working with, bringing his experience as a chartered accountant and his years working with finance, audit, risk, controls and transformation teams. In doing so, James has come up with alternative ways to approach climate transition plans, double materiality assessments, and climate risk assessments focussing on what works in practice rather than just in theory. You can see some of his thought leadership on his LinkedIn here.
