Simon is the Executive Director of the Taskforce for Inequality and Social-related Financial Disclosures (TISFD). The taskforce is working with business and finance leaders, as well as labour organisations and civil society institutions, to develop a global framework for reporting on people-related issues that can be used by companies and financial institutions across the world, and that supports interoperability between existing standards.

Prior to joining TISFD, Simon served as Deputy Chief Executive of ShareAction, a responsible investment charity, leading the organisation’s work to build ambitious investor engagement initiatives to help companies transition towards a fair, just and sustainable economy. He previously worked for McKinsey & Company, a global management consultancy, where he helped build the firm’s social responsibility function. Simon has also served as a diplomat for the British government. He is currently a member of the Senior Advisory Board of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development's Preparer Forum for Sustainable Disclosure.
