Maureen Kashuba leads the Health Literacy Projects team within the GCTO Medical Writing and Disclosure team at Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC. She oversees the development and publication of Protocol and Results Plain Language Summaries (PLS) and the organization’s Glossary, which is now available publicly. With a commitment to inclusivity, she has spearheaded Patient Panel and Cultural Competency reviews to gather diverse insights on PLS and Plain Language terminology. Additionally, Maureen co-chairs the DIA PLS Working Group and contributes to the MRCT Center Glossary Development Team and the EFPIA CREG joint subteam focused on patient-friendly language. Passionate about clear communication, she strives to make medical and clinical research information accessible, empowering patients to make informed health decisions for themselves and their families
