Profile
Briana Valdez is the visionary behind HomeState, a Tex-Mex kitchen known for fresh flour tortillas, breakfast tacos, queso, margaritas, and warm hospitality.
A Texas-native born to Mexican-American parents, Briana’s entrepreneurial journey began after moving to Los Angeles in 2000. It was a profound homesickness that sparked her resolve to bring the familiar flavors of home to her new home of Los Angeles.
Briana spent 4 years learning everything she could about restaurant operations at Thomas Keller’s Bouchon in Beverly Hills, during which time she began hosting backyard pop-ups. Eventually, she opened the flagship HomeState in Hollywood in 2013.
Her leadership has since driven the brand’s expansion to eight neighborhoods across Southern California, with a new location forthcoming in El Segundo, CA. HomeState’s 300 Team Members operate on a mission to transport guests to a laid-back Texas patio and bridge the gap between casual and fine dining.
