Jessica Chao joined Din Tai Fung in 2023, serving as the Vice President of Brand Marketing and Communications, responsible for overseeing the restaurant marketing, digital, communications, and community engagement strategies.

In her role, Jess ensures Din Tai Fung’s cultural heritage, culinary excellence and organizational purpose are at the forefront of all efforts and communications, increasingly important as the brand expands in North America with recent openings at Downtown Disney District, in NYC and the Pacific Northwest, and the company’s first Canada location on the radar.

During Jess’ tenure, Din Tai Fung has placed an emphasis on celebrating the employees who share the brand’s service excellence with guests daily, to ensure all employees feel connected to the organization and its purpose of “bringing people together to inspire appreciation of culture.” In 2023, she spearheaded the first Din Tai Fung Leaders Conference, which brought together leaders from across the company to recognize Din Tai Fung’s rich history and chart the bright future ahead. Additionally, Jess started the brand’s first community engagement initiatives, partnering with non-profit organizations and corporations with shared values to enrich communities and empower cultural conversations.

With a B.A. in communications and a Master's in Communications Management from the University of Southern California, Jess leverages her strategic mindset and passionate personality to empower Din Tai Fung’s brand team and thus support the organization’s holistic growth.
