Wendie PetersenVice President National Business Development at SyscoSpeaker
Profile
Raised in Southern California, I trained as a chef at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and further refined my skills at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Napa. I also hold a BA in Business Management with a focus on Marketing and Finance.
With over 30 years of experience, I’ve served as Executive Chef at notable venues such as The House of Blues in Downtown Disney, The Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, and Second Floor/Gallager’s in Huntington Beach, CA, where I was an owner/partner.
I authored "Gourmet in a Pinch," a cookbook for busy food enthusiasts, and spent twelve years with Sysco, progressing from Marketing Associate to Director of New Business Development to Vice President of National New Business Development. My focus there is on fostering relationships and ensuring operational excellence, particularly in emerging concepts that drive innovation within the culinary landscape. I’ve spearheaded initiatives that emphasize sustainability and adaptability, helping businesses navigate the evolving market demands and consumer preferences.
Over the past decade, my leadership at Sysco and Supplies on the Fly has expanded our national footprint, identifying new business avenues and connecting with diverse stakeholders to support the growth of National Business Development.
On a personal note, I have a son at Sony Games, a daughter who also works for Sysco, and a delightful grandson with a granddaughter on the way. When not in the culinary world, I enjoy fishing, surfing, and traveling, embracing the diverse flavors of global cuisines. Supporting and educating customers in their culinary endeavors is my true passion.
