Profile

I’m Ann Dante Mary O.Planco, currently an ETO Cadet under the sponsorship of Maersk and IMEC, and I’ve undergone my training at the United Marine Training Center (UMTC).I’m a proud graduate of the Technological Institute of the Philippines, Quezon City (TIP), where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and obtained my PRC license as a Registered Electrical Engineer in 2019. After completing my degree and gaining nearly six years of work experience, I decided to apply to UMTC to pursue my passion for a career in the maritime industry. Although TIP and UMTC are not affiliated institutions, this transition allowed me to broaden both my academic and technical perspectives. It also provided opportunities for personal and professional growth, helping me adapt to diverse learning environments and develop a deeper appreciation for both theoretical knowledge and practical application. Before joining the maritime field, I worked for over two years as a Field Service Engineer at Tropical Focus Philippines Incorporated, where I handled the maintenance of HVAC systems for SM Supermalls. Later on, during the pandemic, I served as an Electrical Data QA Analyst at Edge Electrons Limited for nearly four years. In that role, I worked on developing electrical parameter equations, data collection and monitoring, data analysis and interpretation, predictive maintenance, and creating visual reports. These experiences have truly strengthened my technical skills, discipline, and work ethic—qualities that I believe are essential for a successful career at sea.I’m sincerely grateful to Maersk and IMEC for giving me this opportunity and for trusting me as one of their sponsored cadets. It’s an honor to be part of such a well-respected organization that supports the growth and development of aspiring seafarers. I look forward to learning more, performing my duties to the best of my abilities, and upholding the high standards of Maersk both at sea and on shore.Thank you.
