Frans Ubaghs is a seasoned maritime professional with extensive experience in the shipping industry. He earned a Master in Nautical Science from the Antwerp Maritime Academy and has sailed on various types of vessels, ultimately serving as Master on chemical tankers.

In addition to his seafaring career, Frans holds an MBA in Shipping & Logistics and has held leadership roles in the tanker sector, including Marine Superintendent, Inspector, DPA, HSQE Manager, General Manager, and Vetting Manager. He has worked with prominent tanker owners and management companies across Belgium, France, and Germany.

Frans joined INTERTANKO in August 2018 as Vetting Manager, where he provides guidance to members on vetting and HSQE-related matters. His responsibilities include developing INTERTANKO Vetting Guides, organising Vetting Seminars and Forums, and enhancing the organisation's internal database and benchmarking tools. He also plays a crucial role in fostering collaboration with OCIMF, CDI, and other industry organisations.
