Gillian Ferguson is a distinguished HR and business leader with a dynamic career spanning over 25 years.

Her professional journey began with a strong academic foundation, including a degree in Law and Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in HR Management which laid the groundwork for her future successes. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.

Starting her career at Hudson, she built her expertise in recruitment and business operations, leading a team who developed innovative solutions for complex recruitment challenges.

Driven by a passion for enhancing business processes, Gillian transitioned to Ferguson McKenzie, where she played a pivotal role in pioneering Performance-Based Selection in the UK and European markets. Her efforts in streamlining recruitment strategies led to significant cost savings and improved executive placements.

In the subsequent phase of her career, Gillian took on HR and Talent Acquisition leadership roles and managed high-profile projects for Coca Cola Enterprises, RBS Group and Barony Universal.

Her commitment to improving business performance is evident in her track record of cost savings and successful implementation of HR and Recruitment projects.

Today, Gillian serves as the Managing Director of Onboard Maritime, where she leads efforts in digital education for the global merchant navy industry. Her leadership has been instrumental in achieving sustained growth.

In addition to her executive roles, Gillian contributes her expertise as a Non-Executive Director. She serves as a Director of the Scottish Shipping Benevolent Association. Recently, she has taken on the role of Vice Chair of the International Association of Maritime Institutions, reflecting her deep commitment to the maritime sector.

Throughout her career, Gillian has been recognised for her strategic vision, commercial insight, and ability to align teams with organisational goals. Her story is one of continuous growth, impact, and dedication to driving success across diverse business landscapes.
