Martin Eriksen is a seasoned safety professional with extensive leadership and operational experience within maritime & logistics. With a career spanning nearly 20 years, he has progressed from dual maritime officer to leading global safety and operations functions across the maritime and logistics sectors. Martin joined The Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping in 2022 and is serving as Head of Safety Leadership & Operations in the Fleet Transition Impact Hub function.The Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping is a not-for-profit, independent research- and development center working with industry players across the energy- and shipping sectors to develop solutions and viable decarbonization pathways for shipping globally. With Partners, the Center facilitates the development and implementation of new energy technologies; builds confidence in new concepts and their supply chains; and accelerates the transition by defining and maturing viable strategic ways to drive the required systemic and regulatory change. The Center is Copenhagen-based and has a partner base of global companies across the maritime eco system. Martin’s leadership is grounded in real-world experience, having worked offshore on anchor handling, subsea construction vessels. He understands the challenges crews face and have worked internationally managing high-risk offshore projects with a strong focus on training, learning, and operational excellence. Today, he plays a pivotal role supporting maritime industry’s transition towards a safe a net-zero future. As a board member at Svendborg International Maritime Academy, he also contributes to shaping the future of maritime education and leadership.
