Therese Mary Labilles is a leader and advocate in the maritime industry, with a career shaped by both a deep academic foundation and a personal commitment to the lives of seafarers. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of the Philippines, where she developed a strong foundation in understanding human behavior and motivation. This background, along with her Leadership and Management Development training from Ateneo Graduate School, has equipped her with the strategic insight and people-centered approach that define her leadership style today.
Currently, Therese serves as Head of Crewing Philippines at Pacific Basin, where she ensures that the company’s global fleet is staffed with skilled, prepared, and motivated crews. Her role is pivotal in upholding Pacific Basin’s commitment to safety, operational excellence, and crew well-being. Prior to this, Therese was the Crewing Head at JEBSEN-PTC Maritime Inc., overseeing crewing operations for Bahri Ship Management and managing a large, diverse pool of international seafarers. Her earlier leadership roles at EPIC Gas Shipmanagement and Maersk Crew Management Services gave her extensive experience in crew management, planning, and business processes.
Therese’s commitment to her work is profoundly personal; she is the daughter of a Captain, the sister of a 2nd Officer, and the wife of a Chief Engineer. Growing up in Antique and Iloilo, regions known for producing a significant number of Filipino seafarers, has further deepened her connection to the maritime community. This unique background fuels her passion for enhancing the lives of seafarers and their families. Renowned for her integrity, empathy, and strong sense of urgency, Therese combines technical expertise with compassion in every initiative, advocating for crew development, inclusivity, and sustainability.
