Torbjørn Eide is the Vice President for Marine HR with Klaveness Ship Management AS in Oslo, Norway.

He is responsible for all sea personnel activities for the Klaveness Ship Management AS managed vessels. This includes development, implementation, and maintenance of a unified personnel policy for maritime personnel and training, recruitment, and development of maritime personnel. To support him in, he has staff personnel working in Oslo, Manila, Constanta, and Cape Town.

He graduated from the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy in 1990. His service years were mainly spent on board frigates. His seagoing service includes a 10 month deployment in the USN, 13 month deployment as the Norwegian representative in the staff of the Commander of the Standing Naval Force Atlantic (NATO’s Naval Rapid Reaction Force), and numerous deployments to international task groups’ on-board Norwegian frigates.

Ashore duties include Head of the operations branch at the Officers Candidate School, where he lectured in Navigation, Leadership and Ethics. He also served in the staff of the CNO at CHOD Norway. He has attended the Norwegian PWO Course and the Royal Norwegian Staff College.
