FAS Maritime

Profile

In the Philippines alone, sea-based workers bring in five billion dollars—not pesos—worth of remittances every year. This formidable group runs the gamut from humble AB (able-bodied) seamen to captains who lead megaships and large, complex vessels. Of the global fleet, Filipino seafarers make up one third of this workforce. This means that there is always one Filipino out of three plying the world’s seas at any time—operating or heading ships that move 90% of the world’s goods. If there’s a group you want to be aligned with and serve, this is it. Seafarers and shipping executives are always on the lookout for wise investments, smart choices for leisure and recreation, the best ways to pamper their families, and share their blessings and good fortune—whether it be through material means, or the passing down of expertise and knowledge. Targeting manning and shipping executives (logistics, aviation, and tracking), as well as seafarers and their families, FAS Maritime Magazine (print edition) is released quarterly and circulated in manning agencies, training and seamen’s centers, government agencies, support and shipping offices, and associations involving seamen’s families all over the world, including onboard vessels through subscriptions and direct distribution. FAS Maritime, or FAS for short, stands for “free along side,” a shipping trade term that requires the seller to deliver goods to a named port alongside a vessel in good condition. We envision the same in bringing you information, the way you deserve! The same team that gave you Seafarer Asia magazine brings you the same quality of reportage, photography, and coverage with FAS Maritime. This time, we’re nimbler and more innovative, giving you features on three platforms—print, a website, and via video. Whether you’re an executive from manning, shipping, aviation, or logistics wanting to brush up on industry trends; an academy cadet needing extra background on the industry; or a wife yearning to learn more about her husband’s career in a non-threatening, personable way, FAS Maritime will give it to you in a click, or a whoosh of a page. We’d like you to be a part of this dynamic and growing community by making your products and services available through the pages and/or website.
