Profile

Federico Cupelli is Deputy Director for regulatory policy at EFAMA. He oversees a small team covering regulatory developments in all fund product-specific areas, management company-related issues, third-country fund distribution issues, as well as several international regulatory initiatives affecting the regulation of the European asset management industry. At EFAMA he is also directly responsible for an ETF and MMF expert group and oversees the association’s work on the MISP Package and on the upcoming UCITS eligible asset review.

Before joining EFAMA in September 2014, Federico worked for three years as a senior advisor in the asset management regulation policy division at the French Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) in Paris, covering a series of asset management-related initiatives within ESMA, as well as globally at the FSB and IOSCO-levels. Prior to the AMF, Federico was working as policy officer at the European Commission DG Internal Market, in charge of preparing the “UCITS V” initiative. He has a Masters Degree in International Economics & Affairs from the Johns Hopkins University in the U.S. and a Certificate in Investment Management from the London Business School.
