James Athey

Fund Manager at Marlborough Group

James has more than 20 years’ investment management experience. He joined Marlborough in May 2024 as a Fund Manager and co-manages our Global Bond and Bond Income funds with Niall McDermott.

James began his career at Deutsche Asset Management in 2001 before joining what is today Abrdn when it acquired DeAM in 2005.

Prior to joining Marlborough, he was a Senior Portfolio Manager in the team managing Abrdn’s European and global government bond funds.

James studied at Loughborough University and holds a degree in business economics & finance and a master’s in information technology.
