Maren started her maritime career in 2004 with Germanischer Lloyd in Hamburg, Germany, after graduating from the Faculty of Engineering and Marine Engineering of the University of Rostock. In 2007 she started working as a Technical Superintendent for VLCCs and Suezmaxes for the company Euronav in Antwerp, Belgium. In 2011 Maren changed to Exmar Shipmanagement, first as a Technical Superintendent and since 2013 as LPG Fleet Manager.

During her work as Technical Superintendent she has participated in and led various projects around the world and has obtained many related technical and maritime qualifications. In 2013 Maren obtained an Executive M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management / WHU and she is a Member of the Technical Committee of Intertanko.
