Suresh Verma currently works as a Senior Chief Engineer with BC Ferry Services Inc. With over 30 years’ experience in the field, Suresh has worked as a Casual First/relief Chief Engineer, mostly working on Spirit of British Columbia and Spirit of Vancouver Island. He has been Chief Engineer on board Aframax Crude Oil Tankers, doing STS operations in Gulf of Mexico, Houston Galveston Area and International voyages worldwide. In addition to this, he has had several years’ experience as a Jurisdictional Inspector, Authorized Inspector, and nuclear Inspector.

As well as holding a Class I Marine Engineer's License from Ministry of Surface Transport India and Transport Canada, he has a First class Interprovincial Standardized Power Engineer's (Stationary Engineer) Certificate of Qualification from British Columbia Safety Authority. Suresh also works for the Alberta Boiler Safety Association as an examiner for Power Engineers.
