Sebastian’s first management role was by his own admission, a total disaster. Thrown in at the deep end to manage a team of more experienced, more intelligent, change weary and bitterly disillusioned staff was always going to be an uphill struggle.

However, looking back Seb realises that this was the best start in management that he could have been given. As a fresh faced management graduate, he had hoped that his management books, irrefutable logic, clever PowerPoint presentations and endless theories would see him through the tough times. He learnt quickly and as manager of people for the last 15 years, he understands now that a much more practical and human approach is required.
