You need to attend all live sessions in order to be eligible for certification.
What if I miss a live session?
Please notify EBD Operations and the Instructors as far as advance as possible. If you are assigned to a group project for the session you will miss, please notify your group. You can still complete the course if you miss one live session.

No. Participation in the live sessions is required to complete the course. Each live session will review and discuss the previous exercise, answer any questions, and present the next exercise.

You should join the course at the start date although late participation can be reconsidered on a case-by-case basis depending on how far along the course is.
