Professor Mohanad Alfiras is the current President of Gulf University, a prominent institution located in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He is a respected academician with a strong background in engineering and a proven track record in higher education administration.As President, Professor Alfiras oversees the overall direction and management of Gulf University, ensuring its academic excellence and contributing to the development of higher education in Bahrain. His leadership has been instrumental in guiding Gulf University towards achieving its goals and maintaining its reputation as a leading institution in the region. His visionary leadership has been pivotal in guiding Gulf University towards the attainment of its objectives and upholding its reputation as an eminent institution within the region.Prof. Mohanad Alfiras earned his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Communication System Engineering in 2000 and 2006, respectively and another Ph.D. in Education Technology, Brunel University of London, UKA prolific academician, Prof. Mohanad has authored/co-authored over 91 research publications in esteemed peer-reviewed journals and presented papers at numerous conferences. And hold a patent for an AI-based fraud call detection device (UK), with two additional patents currently pending. He has also been a keynote speaker at many conferences and events. He has perfectly balanced his academic pursuits with administrative responsibilities at Gulf University, where he also served as the Dean of Admissions and Registration. A testament to his leadership acumen, Professor Alfiras assumed the role of Acting President in 2015, subsequently transitioning to the position of President in 2017.In recognition of his academic contributions, Prof. Al Firas received a Principal Fellow Certificate from the Higher Education Academy in 2018. Further underscoring his academic eminence, he was appointed as a full Professor in April 2021, solidifying his standing as a respected figure in the academic community.
