Richard has been leading vocational training and talent development in Europe and the GCC for over 20 years. At NEOM he leads the mission to create a new model for workforce development. Prior to this he was responsible for running the most successful apprenticeship programmes in the UK Financial Services sector. He has worked for a decade as a director of educational policy for the department of education (UK) and before that at in the L&D team at the Volkswagen Group.
He is a member of several academic committees including ‘Young Lives, young futures’ group at Kings College London and the International Apprenticeship Network (INAP) at Bremen University. Richard contributes regularly to the International Labor Organisation and OECD and is recognised internationally as an education subject matter expert. His work has been published extensively, and he has spoken at conferences and events internationally for many years, primarily focusing on Apprenticeships for the new economy.
