Dr. Dmitri Kantsyrev is responsible for conducting alpha research and managing Qtron’s Large Cap Global, International and Emerging Markets strategies. Under his management at Qtron, the Global All Cap Equity and Emerging Markets Equity strategies received a 6-Star rating, while the Global Equity strategy earned a 5-Star rating. These strategies ranked among the top ten for information ratios over the latest five-year period and were recognized with the Zephyr PSN Top Guns Award1 for 2024 and 2025.*
Prior to Qtron, Dr. Kantsyrev oversaw Dynamic Equity products at PanAgora Asset Management. He led research and portfolio management for Global and Emerging Market Equity strategies with over $20B. Dr. Kantsyrev was a member of the Operating Committee within PanAgora’s management.
Strategies managed by Dr. Kantsyrev have garnered recognition from prestigious industry awards, such as Best Long-Term Manager, granted by Korea Investment Corporation in 2012, and Best Global Equity Manager, awarded by the Asian Investor Magazine in 2013. During his tenure, Global, International, and Emerging Markets portfolios consistently ranked in the top decile in eVestment as measured by information ratio2.*
Prior to PanAgora, Dr. Kantsyrev pursued an academic career. As a lecturer at the USC Marshall School of Business and Pepperdine University, he taught financial analysis, corporate finance, statistics, and economics courses. Before his switch to finance, Dr. Kantsyrev was a research scientist at the University of Michigan Spin Physics Center.
Dr. Kantsyrev holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Southern California, as well as M.S. degrees in Mathematical Finance and Physics, and is a CFA Charterholder. Dr. Kantsyrev’s work has been featured in the Journal of Portfolio Management, and he has presented at numerous conferences and seminars.
