Jay has over 20 years of experience in public accounting focusing on the Alternative Investments fund space. Prior to coming over to Grant Thornton, Jay was in a Big Four Accounting Firm’s Asset Management tax practice for over a decade. Jay specializes in taxation of hedge funds, PE and VC funds and works with clients in various strategies ranging from long-short equity, credit focused structures, growth equity & LBO funds, CLOs, commercial lending, multi-strategy platforms to hybrid fund of funds. Jay works closely with clients regarding tax planning and compliance, including fund formation and structuring, annual tax reporting and guidance on maneuvering among local, state, U.S. federal and international tax rules.
