Sunil Rao is a Partner and COO/CFO at Plum Alley Ventures, where he helps build an institutional venture capital firm investing in the technologies shaping the future of industry and society. He leads the firm's finance, operations, governance, fundraising and investor relations, and serves on the Investment Committee.

A former global banking executive with more than 20 years at Barclays, Citigroup and KPMG, Sunil brings institutional finance discipline to early-stage venture investing. His work sits at the intersection of investing, firm building and founder support.

He is particularly interested in what makes companies—and the investors behind them—durable over decades rather than funding cycles. Beyond the investment process, he advises founders on strategy, financial management and building companies that can scale with discipline.
