Profile
Frank Wijckmans is a member of the Brussels Bar and professor at the Brussels School of Competition, where he teaches ‘The Law and Economics of Vertical Restraints’. He acted as expert advisor to DG Competition in the context of the preparation of the new Vertical Block Exemption Regulation and the accompanying Vertical Guidelines. He was recently appointed as one of the new assessors at the Belgian Competition Authority (BMA). He is the author of many articles and books in the field of competition law, the most well-known of which is “Vertical Agreements in EU Competition Law” (3d edition) published by Oxford University Press. Frank has an extensive track record of defending businesses in competition law proceedings (both at the European and national level) and his advisory practice covers many sectors. He is furthermore an experienced negotiator, litigator and arbitrator (ICC, CEPANI, ad hoc arbitration) and a regular speaker at conferences.
