Iona is a professional economist with over 20 years of experience. She specialises in competition and regulatory matters and has an established reputation for delivering rigorous economic analysis for clients both as an advisor and an expert witness, in particular with respect to anti-competitive agreements, abuse of dominance infringements, and associated private damages claims.

She has wide experience estimating damages in the context of both group claims and CPOs. Recent cases include trucks, forex, and automotive bearings. Iona has also advised clients in complex market investigations including secondary ticketing, credit reference agencies and loan syndication.

She is a founding member of W@CompetitionUK and has written and spoken widely on competition matters. In 2019, 2020 and 2021, Iona was named by Who’s Who Legal as a Future Leader as an expert in the field of competition economics for her "sound and thorough analysis" and for being a "down-to-earth economist who does not blind you with economist science.
