John is a Managing Director in the HSBC Capital Markets team, and is HSBC’s Global Co-Head of Covered Bonds and Head of ABS for EMEA. In addition to his usual activities, John has also been heavily involved in HSBC’s response to IBOR transition, has worked with a wide variety of clients across multiple sectors and geographies both on new issuance and more general transition-related topics, and is HSBC’s representative on the FCA’s RFR Bond Market Sub-Group.

John has over 15 years of experience in the investment banking sector, is a qualified chartered accountant, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA), holds the Securities Institute Diploma (MSI), and a BA (Hons) from the University of Bristol in Mathematics and Philosophy.
