Amber Buker is the Chief Research Officer for Travillian, a premier executive search and talent advisory firm with a deep focus on community banks, investment banks, and fintechs. There, she manages the Travillian Next content brand and leads research initiatives on compensation and technology strategy, translating insights into bespoke work for clients.

In past roles, Amber produced in-depth research reports, feature-length magazine stories, and the FinXTech Connect platform — a database of bank-friendly fintechs that is still sold as part of Bank Director’s board membership program. At the Alloy Labs Alliance, Amber worked with innovative bank leaders to create actionable deliverables based on member collaborations. In 2022, she became one of the only Indigenous women in the U.S. to raise a multi-million-dollar venture round, building a fintech for Native American Tribes and their people.

A recovering attorney, former founder, and regular podcast host, Amber has interviewed hundreds of leaders in banking, fintech, and Indian Country. She frequently writes and speaks for national audiences about what she’s learned from their work.
