Agnieszka Ason
Senior Visiting Research Fellow at Oxford Institute for Energy Studies


Agnieszka Ason is a Senior Visiting Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES) and an independent energy lawyer with expertise in gas, LNG, and hydrogen contracts. She has advised energy companies across the value chain and acted as counsel and expert in a wide range of energy disputes, including major gas and LNG price review negotiations and arbitrations in Europe and Asia. Agnieszka is an Honorary Lecturer at the Queen Mary University of London and frequently guest lectures on energy law and international dispute resolution, most recently at the Humboldt University of Berlin and the London School of Economics. She also serves as the Course Director for Informa’s Certificate in LNG at Lloyd’s Maritime Academy. She has published on various aspects of international energy contracts, including recent OIES papers on ‘International Gas Contracts’ (2022), ‘Rouble Gas Payment Mechanism’ (2022), and ‘Scenarios for Asian long-term LNG Contracts before and after COVID-19’ (2022).
