Dietrich started his career in the gas industry at Wingas in 1997, working in the Gas Purchase Department and subsequently as of 1999 in the newly set up Trading team. Joining RWE Trading GmbH in early 2002, he focused on Gas Trading in both liquid and illiquid markets. This also comprised the booking of transport and storage capacities across all European markets. In 2013 he took over the responsibility for the Gas Origination Team covering Continental Europe, covering the liquid as well as semi-liquid and illiquid markets. The current key area of his work is the development of Gas Trading in Central Eastern European countries as well as the Baltic region.
