Focusing on the long-term can dampen volatility

If we had’ve turned off our computers at the peak of the market in 2007 and turned them back on again last week, we wouldn’t have even noticed the gyrations in the market. That’s the view of Hermes Investment CEO Saker Nusseibeh who believes that investment managers need to stop focussing on the short-term.
"Clients lose money when we trade for the sake of trading."
Speaking to FundForum correspondent Emma Walden at FundForum International 2016 in Berlin, Saker discusses how fund managers can provide a better end-goal for the customer by focussing on the long-term game, diversifying portfolios, and moving away from a product model to a service model.
