Michael is Partner at New Leaf Climate Partners, an investment and advisory firm he co-founded in 2022. New Leaf's mission is to finance nature-based solutions that address the climate crisis and create positive social impacts. Michael leads the development of blended finance strategies that protect, restore and grow natural capital. By leveraging public and private capital, New Leaf aims to create opportunities for a more inclusive and effective market for investments in nature.
Before New Leaf, Michael was a founding director at BlackRock Sustainable Investing, where he was responsible for climate product development, analytics and advisory services. He has authored papers on low-carbon transition, climate regulation and carbon pricing frameworks, and helped clients integrate climate risk and opportunity into portfolios. He also served as program manager at ClimateWorks Foundation, focusing on global grant programs to accelerate the low-carbon transition.
Michael holds a BA and an MPP from Stanford University.
