Profile

Pieta leads the Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) practice at Deloitte in the Caribbean and Bermuda region (Deloitte CBC). Her skillset draws on more than 10 years of experience growing data science/machine learning capability and delivering large-scale projects for public and private sector organisations. Pieta’s expertise spans the full AI lifecycle, from building AI literacy and identifying opportunities through strategy development, technology implementation and governance. Prior to joining Deloitte CBC, Pieta was AI & Data Director for Deloitte New Zealand, based in Auckland.

In today's world, we face constant and ever-growing pressures on our people and planet - we now hold the potential to strengthen our response with the safe and effective use of data and Artificial Intelligence. Pieta is motivated to harness the power of these technologies to build solutions that deliver real value, addressing our clients’ ambitions and biggest challenges.

Pieta’s previous roles have included Chief Analytics Officer, Head of Data, and Product Director for machine learning, spanning various global organizations as well as technology- and data-driven industries. She is passionate about the potential of cross-functional teams to deliver data science solutions and enjoys working at the intersection of rigorous science, human-centered design and new technology.

Pieta holds a Masters of Professional Studies in Data Science, a Bachelor of Laws, a Postgraduate Certification in Health Informatics and is an ICAgile Certified Professional. She currently serves on a research advisory board and a data ethics committee. Pieta has authored/collaborated on several AI and Data research publications and was part of a team awarded the Prime Minister’s Science Prize (New Zealand) in 2020. She has also been recognised as a finalist in the New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards.
