Blake Boshnack is a partner in the firm's New York City, NY office with over 20 years of public accounting experience. The majority of his clients are in the real estate, financial services, and private equity industries, including developers, family offices, and privately held real estate funds. He has worked with many of the largest developers on all aspects of real estate. He has particular experience in the tax aspects of real estate transactions across various asset classes, including analyzing potential transactions from both a tax and an overall business perspective. Blake has extensive experience in condo development, analyzing workouts and restructurings, and advising on sales and purchases of real estate.
Blake is an active member of Citrin Cooperman's Real Estate Industry Practice and a thought leader who specializes in 1031 (like-kind) exchanges and Qualified Opportunity Zones (QOZs).
Blake works hand-in-hand with his clients to manage the entire lifecycle of their investments. He guides them through the complexities involved in acquisition, managing operations, and capital transactions, with the ultimate goal of minimizing and/or deferring federal, state, and local tax ramifications.
In conjunction with the work on his clients' business entities, Blake helps plan and manage their individual and estate tax situations with a personalized, forward-looking strategy to address any impending changes from both a personal and financial perspective and assist them in achieving their short- and long-term goals.
Blake is the Veterans ERG co-leader and has been mentoring veterans and their families to enter/re-enter the workforce through his relationship with Hire Heroes.
