Afshin Kateb serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Palladius Capital Management, where he oversees finance, accounting, and risk management. In addition to managing the firm’s hospitality investments and co- head debt, he leads the asset management teams for multifamily and student housing. As a key member of the Investment Committee, Mr. Kateb also heads the hospitality investment arm for Palladius and its sister funds.
Previously, Mr. Kateb was the CFO of Nimes Real Estate, where he oversaw the finance department and served as a senior member of the firm’s investment committee, overseeing a portfolio of multifamily, student housing, and hospitality assets. Prior to joining Nimes, Mr. Kateb served as CFO and principal at SBE, Senior Vice President and Fund Portfolio Manager at Lowe Enterprises Investors, and founding CFO of The KOR Realty Group, with a focus on hotels, multifamily, adaptive reuse, and mixed-use development projects. He also served as a Senior Management Consultant at Ernst & Young, where he worked on national and international commercial real estate projects, and Corporate Controller at Maruko Inc., where he oversaw an extensive portfolio of multifamily, hotel, office, and retail properties.
Mr. Kateb currently serves on the boards of the University of Redlands and the Cal Poly Pomona Collins School of Hospitality Management.
Mr. Kateb holds a BS in accounting from the University of Redlands (formerly Woodbury University), an MBA from Pepperdine University, and PHD from Grenoble Ecole de Management/EMLYON Business School (France).
