Scott is the Southwest Region tax growth leader and a dedicated specialist in the real estate and private equity sectors. He advises clients with a strong emphasis on real estate development, investment, and operations. His expertise includes tax planning and compliance strategies tailored to the unique needs of real estate entities, including multistate compliance and accounting method optimization.

He is a recognized firmwide resource on tangible property regulations and frequently leads internal and external training sessions focused on real estate tax applications. His insights help clients navigate complex regulatory environments and maximize tax efficiency across property portfolios.

Before joining the Dallas office, Scott served as a national tax assistant director in the firm’s Professional Standards Group, where he conducted tax consultations and quality control reviews. He also trained professionals on standardized tax workpapers, technology tools, and new tax laws—many of which directly impact the real estate industry.

He is a graduate of University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, with a B.S. degree in accounting and professional services.
