Rod Albuyeh, PhD is Senior Director of Artificial Intelligence at Figure, where he leads the company's work building intelligent systems for consumer lending and financial markets. He brings extensive experience designing and scaling production-grade machine learning systems in enterprise environments, with expertise spanning deep learning, MLOps, generative AI, and time-series modeling across healthcare, finance, and technology deployments.

Before joining Figure, Albuyeh served as Principal Data Scientist at Labcorp, where he built ML infrastructure and end-to-end hybrid model pipelines for revenue cycle management. He has also held technical leadership roles at Intuit, Oportun, and Resmed, contributing to mission-critical AI initiatives across the fintech and healthtech industries, and has led applied research teams and architected end-to-end ML platforms for high-stakes, regulated contexts.

Alongside his industry work, Albuyeh is an adjunct professor of Applied Artificial Intelligence, teaching courses on applied AI and data systems at the University of San Diego, where he focuses on integrating foundational theory with real-world system design. He holds a PhD from the University of Southern California and is based in San Diego, California.
