Since highschool and college, Andrew was always drawn towards building better, building better quality homes, better homes for the environment, better client and trade relationships, etc. As a first-generation college student, he refused to wait until he was out of school to begin this work. While in school, he worked full-time building environmentally friendly homes while studying green-building in the classroom. He refuses to accept that just because something has been done for years, doesn’t mean it can’t change and be done better. Now, he’s 24 and owns his own custom homebuilding company, AGO Builds and is the Southeast Passive House representative. At such a young age, he sees the importantance of building better homes for future generations. He sees the importance of bringing the passive house movement to the Southeast, which has often lagged behind in environmental standards. Although the industry is typically for the more mature in age, Andrew sees his age as an opportunity to bring fresh ideas, new thinking, and innovation to the home building industry. His drive has allowed him to create real and positive change in the industry. Andrew uses social media to attract interest from the next generation of builders and inspire others to implement the little details that make for a better build.
