Ben Hellweg is co-founder and served as Chief Investment Officer at Home Partners of America (“HPA”) from its founding until the end of 2023, leading a team that acquired over $10 Billion in homes. Ben also helped lead its initial equity and debt capital raises and helped develop the Choice Lease program which deployed over $250 million to create affordable rental housing. HPA was sold to BREIT in 2021 for $6 Billion. Prior co-founding HPA, Ben spent 11 years at Goldman Sachs at GS Infrastructure Partners and in the European structured finance business. He worked on and led several significant transactions, including the $45B public-to-private acquisition of TXU and the €3B restructuring of Eurotunnel. Ben holds BS and MS degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT, and is an inventor holding patents relating to the design of lithium batteries.
