Cortney Newmans is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Asteris Lending, an Atlanta-based, minority-owned private lending firm serving real estate investors and developers nationwide. Under his leadership, Asteris is setting a new standard in asset-backed lending by blending institutional capital strength with a sponsor-first, relationship-driven service model.
A seasoned executive with more than a decade of experience in real estate finance, Cortney has personally originated over $1 billion in single-family rental and multifamily loans, with oversight of more than $500 million in additional production. Prior to founding Asteris, he served in key national roles at Lima One Capital, where he led commercial lending strategy, expanded operations into 42 states and Washington D.C., and built out large-scale institutional partnerships.
With deep expertise in underwriting, sales management, capital markets, and business development, Cortney’s career has been marked by a consistent focus on building high-growth, high-integrity lending platforms. He has constructed and flipped over 75 residential properties, and successfully managed value-add multifamily portfolios, demonstrating firsthand knowledge of the challenges real estate operators face in securing fast, flexible financing.
A proud Macon, Georgia native and University of Georgia graduate, Cortney brings a deep connection to the Southeast’s real estate ecosystem.
