When I was 18, I went on a week-long vacation to the Florida Keys with my mom, dad, and partner. We used to go to the Keys every year back then, but this trip was different. It started off stormy, and we weren’t sure if we’d get much time to enjoy the water. Still, we kept our spirits up!

Two days into the trip, the guys unexpectedly had to leave for work, leaving me and my mom with the whole place to ourselves. At first, we were like, What now? But then we started brainstorming: What do we really want to do with this time?

And that’s when it hit us—get Dive certified! Why not, right? We dove headfirst into it—literally and figuratively. We spent the next five days learning all things diving: completing pool dives, studying, and even going on three incredible offshore dives.

It turned out to be one of the most magical, Aah-Inspiring experiences of my life. My mom and I bonded in such a special way, and I walked away with a lifelong skill that I can enjoy whenever I want!
