J.Thelander Consulting is headed by Jody K. Thelander, a compensation executive with a track record of successful results and nearly three decades of professional experience. Jody has a keen understanding of business realities through a diversified background in compensation, sales and customer service. Her surveys and resulting reports have become a well-respected and highly desired tool for compensation decision-makers in the private capital markets. J.Thelander Consulting provides board and compensation consulting to a full range of private companies and investment firms, including life sciences and tech, venture capital, private equity and corporate venture . Jody runs the Thelander Private Company Compensation Surveys as well as the Thelander-PitchBook Investment Firm Survey. Jody earned a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Studies at the University of Vermont, Burlington, and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources at Marymount University, Arlington, VA. Her career began in the fashion retail industry with British Vogue, Ralph Lauren Womenswear, Bonwit Teller and Garfinkel’s in London, New York and Washington, DC. Jody also spent ten years with TRW Space and Defense, both in Washington, DC and San Francisco, before starting her own firm. Jody has served on the Auxiliary Board of the San Francisco Ballet, the Modern Art Council of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and All Raise Miami Chapter. She is past chair of the Leadership Committee for the American Diabetes.
