Profile

Dr. Wei Peng is Co-founder and Chief Business Officer of Crimson Gateway. She earned her Ph.D. in Immunology from Harvard Medical School and completed her postdoctoral training in metabolism and aging at the Harvard School of Public Health. With more than 20 years of extensive experience spanning R&D, business development, and biotech investment across Novozymes, BeOne, and Highlight Capital, Dr. Peng has played a pivotal role in fostering international partnerships and facilitating cross-border out-licensing transactions for leading biotech companies in China, including Medilink, Velavigo, and Rgenta.

At Crimson Gateway, Dr. Peng is building a next-generation biotechnology company that combines novel target biology from around the world with China’s speed and efficiency in therapeutic development. Led by Harvard-trained scientists in immunology and computational biology, the company is advancing three first-in-class pipelines across I&I, oncology, and fibrosis, targeting key inflammatory mechanisms. With teams spanning the US, UK and China, Crimson Gateway’s cross-border model integrates global scientific innovation with China’s rapidly emerging cutting-edge technology platforms to accelerate the development of transformative medicines while achieving significantly greater capital efficiency than conventional biotech approaches.

In addition, Dr. Peng serves as a China strategic partner to multinational pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies, and investment funds, supporting international collaborations and NewCo creation across the US, UK, and Europe.
