Leon Dadoun, CPA is a seasoned capital markets expert, financial executive, entrepreneur and public speaker with over 40 years of experience in Canadian and international banking with a specialty in debt capital markets, mortgages, securitization, and regulatory strategy. Leon has been pivotal in forming, shaping and launching financial institutions, advising on IPO/RTO transactions, and contributing to public policy formation. He was front and centre in launching 3 different Canadian Banks and M&A work involving the acquisition of 4 other Banks.
As a Managing Director at CIBC World Markets (1993–2006), Leon steered the firm’s global securitization business, growing its ABCP outstanding to $15 billion and structuring groundbreaking securitizations. He also advised OSFI and the International Basel Committee on the creation of regulatory, capital and solvency frameworks that continue to shape global banking standards.
In his role as CEO of Highclere Capital, a recently launched residential Mortgage Finance Company, Leon brings a history of successfully steering multiple organizations through growth and transformation. He leverages his extensive leadership experience to drive growth, manage risk, and foster innovation in the mortgage industry. Leon is committed to making Highclere a company dedicated to empowering brokers with cutting-edge tools and resources.
Beyond corporate leadership, Leon has advised Canadian courts as a recognized expert witness in high-profile financial services litigation, including being engaged by and opposite Canadian-based securities regulators. Leon is also a recognized guitarist playing to theatres with “Floydium … Canada’s Pink Floyd Show”. He also served on the board of the Geneva Centre for Autism for 20 years.
