Anna K. Argo, MBA, is the Chief Business Officer for Cytotheryx, a biotechnology company advancing cell-based therapies to address acute, chronic and rare forms of liver disease utilizing primary human hepatocytes. Ms. Argo provides strategic, financial and business operationsleadership to the company, driving and maximizing value creation. She is responsible for external partnerships, identification of collaborators and new technologies, licensing, commercialization strategy, contract negotiations, investor relations, brand development, human resources, and more.
Ms. Argo has 15 years of experience in development and fundraising. Prior to joining Cytotheryx in early 2020, she spent a decade in non-profit fundraising, most of which was at Children's Minnesota, where she led strategic philanthropy, new program development, and board relations at the Foundation. During her time at Children’s, Ms. Argo spearheaded the creation of two new community groups, Children’s Legacy Advisors and Children’s Council, which transformed the way professional advisors and the next generation of community leaders engaged with the hospital. Additionally, shewas the staff lead for a $23M initiative to expand Fetal Surgery clinical offerings and to fund Gene Therapy Research in partnership with Mayo Clinic. She also successfully led the fundraising initiatives for the Pain, Palliative and Integrative Medicine and Eating Disorders programs. Her ability to drive engagement and deliver results was instrumental in bringing in more than $16M in new gifts to Children’s, including the first endowed chair.
Ms. Argo was recently recognized as a 2025 Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal ’40 Under 40’ honoree, and in 2024, was nominated to join WBL –Women Business Leaders of the US Health Care Industry. She serves as a member of the Leadership Advisory Council for ARMI/BioFabUSA, providinghigh-level guidance and insight to shape the future of regenerative medicine. Ms. Argo is also a member of Medical Alley, MedTech Women and The Bullpen, and serves on the Advisory Board for Octin Health.
Beyond her professional success, Ms. Argo is a passionate advocate for education, health and access for kids and families, actively contributing to several community initiatives, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Girls on the Run Twin Cities, Bolder Options, MATTER, Northside Achievement Zone, The Constellation Fund and PCYC. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors for The Shooting Star Foundation and, previously, was a member of the National Alumni Board at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn.
She lives in Edina with her husband and their two kids
