Profile
Boopathy holds a B.Sc. degree in Chemistry and a M.Sc. degree in Organic chemistry both degrees received from the University of Madras in south India. He moved to University of Lausanne, where he obtained his PhD degree in 1994 on the topic of a chemical approach to synthesis of Ion channel forming peptides. After completion of his doctoral studies in Bioorganic chemistry at the University of Lausanne. Boopathy has been working within the medical device field within different roles. Since 2007, Boopathy’s main focus has been the cleanliness of medical devices. He established a cleanliness lab to monitor the cleanliness of the devices.
He has been involved in all stages of product development including the creation of risk management files (ISO 14971) and design control (ISO 13485). He has been nominated as convenor of ISO/NP 8250 in 2022, as cleanliness is closely related to biological safety of the medical devices.
